Dedicated to helping patients improve their health, board-certified family physician Liqaa Al-Khozaie, MD, provides primary care services for all members of a patient’s family. She treats patients at her private practice, Dr. Al Family and Urgent Care, located in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Dr. Al-Khozaie earned her Doctor of Medicine from the College of Medicine at Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad, Iraq. She then went through an internal medicine internship at Al-Yarmouk General Hospital in Baghdad, followed by a family practice internship at the University of Baghdad, Baghdad Teaching Hospital.
After completing her internships, Dr. Al-Khozaie relocated to the United States and finished a family practice residency program through Carilion Clinic Family Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She also completed a geriatric medicine fellowship through the Carilion Health System. Dr. Al-Khozaie went on to become board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Because of Dr. Al-Khozaie’s vast training and experience, she’s able to provide comprehensive medical care for newborns, children, adults, and seniors, all under one roof. Being affiliated with Mary Washington Healthcare medical facilities in Virginia, including the Stafford Hospital and the Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, allows Dr. Al-Khozaie to provide care in state-of-the-art hospital settings when needed.
Dr. Al-Khozaie believes that the most important aspects of providing quality care are listening to the needs of patients through evaluation and testing while presenting them with treatment options to help them achieve their best possible health. She speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic and can help patients who have language barriers. Dr. Al-Khozaie is known for her warmth and compassionate bedside manner, as well as her ability to put her patients at ease.
